Back in 2007 we launched 1-800-GOOG-411, a voice-powered directory assistance service that connects you quickly to businesses across the U.S. and Canada. On November 12, 2010, we will shut down the service.

This was posted October 8, 2010 but, I did not see until today.

I have used this service infrequently, but when I did I was out of town and it came in very handy.

The only alternative I have been able to find is 1-800-BING-411, but I don't know much about it.

Does anyone know of other alternatives for people who don't have smart phones, like me?
